This guide is for readers who’ve been trying to write a book and published it as a teenager. It will help you get published and/or make money from your writing.
Each person on our planet has a unique story to tell. Some of these stories are good, some bad. Some of your stories are good, some bad. You want to tell your story the best way possible. You want to tell it with the proper tone and technique, but you also don’t want to be too complicated or boring so that it doesn’t become unreadable for people.
This guide will help you learn how to get your book published as a teenager
Crafting a Book Publishing Plan
Write it down. Make a list of the things you want to do. As you’re writing, you’ll probably make more ideas than you know what to do with, which is okay. The most important thing is to keep track of your ideas and passions so that when an opportunity comes along, you can make a decision without hesitation.
There are many sources for people who want to publish their own book. You can start with Amazon KDP Select or Create Space, or other ebook platforms like Smash words or B&N’s Nook Book Store (iOS & Android).
The most important thing about publishing a book is that it takes time and lots of energy (especially during the early stages), but it’s worth it if you get to share your story with the world.
The Book Publishing Process
The path to book publishing is an endless maze of untraveled streets. But, it’s not for the faint of heart. It requires persistence, discipline, and a bit of luck.
It’s important not to be discouraged. If you have been thinking about your book in the past week, then you might be familiar with what I call the “Book Publishing Process.” The Book Publishing Process is the best way to approach publishing and become one of those rare book authors that are published by major publishers.
It’s a process that is both expected and expected (and sometimes expected). It starts when you get an offer from a publisher and then it gets complicated when you have to find a good agent who can help you with the publication process at a reasonable price.
If you are interested in becoming a published author, here are some steps that you can take to make sure that your book is published:
1). Find an Agent: If you choose to self-publish your book on Amazon or another platform, then there will be no need for an agent. However, unless you have already been published before (in which case I would suggest seeking out an agent who has experience in this area), then there will still be some things that need to be done before your book can even go into publication.
You may think that getting a publisher is easy, but it isn’t so simple when it comes to finding the right publisher in today’s world where everyone is vying for attention online just like everyone else. You also need to know what works for each publisher and what doesn’t work so well…and sometimes it all depends on how willing they are to work with me!
2). Get Published: When someone wants your work (in print or electronically), they will contact their editors or agents who will then contact publishers directly. You may want to look into getting published through one of these platforms: Create Space, Lightning Source, Green Light, or Amazon. They all offer different services so take some time looking into each company and deciding if they are worth investing resources into in order for them to publish your work (especially if it isn’t already available on these platforms).
3). Get Published by a Major Publisher: While there are many other ways for writers like yourself to publish their books (I personally prefer self-publishing as I know all too well how hard it can be).
How to Get a Publisher
If you are a teenager, you are reading this story. And if you’re reading this story, you’re probably just like me. You’re on the verge of entering the world of publishing. You’ve likely already submitted your first manuscript to publishers. As a teenager, one of your main goals is to get published for the sake of validation and financial independence; and to reach the goal of being able to support yourself financially.
If that sounds like you, congratulations — you may have thought about it some time ago, but many people don’t think about publishing until they reach adulthood. Even if they do write and submit their manuscript at some point in their lives, they may not finish writing or submit a manuscript until adulthood. Publishing is a common goal for teenagers because it can be achieved in two different ways:
The first way is to become an author or writer by becoming self-published through websites such as Create Space or Create Space. Self-publishing is becoming a viable option only if your book competes with other books available on the market through online bookstores such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. If your book does not have any competition on the market, then self-publishing isn’t possible for you because these online bookstores will reject your manuscript unless you have thousands of readers who will buy it from other online bookstores such as Smash words or even Create Space.
The second way to publish a book is through agents and publishers who specialize in writing books for teens or young adults because there are fewer people who want to read the same thing that I want to read! If you want me to publish my story too, I need an agent!
Now that we understand how publishing works, let’s dive into what exactly publishing entails and how it differs from traditional editing techniques like proofreading or proofreading techniques like copyediting.
Formatting and Designing Your Book Cover
This is an article about book publishing for a teenager. It was written for those who have no experience or knowledge on the subject and want to start publishing their own books. This is not an in-depth tutorial, all the information you will find here is pulled from my favorite sources of information: books, articles, and other people’s stories.
There are numerous resources out there that teach teenagers how to publish their own books, but they always come with limitations like “you can only print as much as you can afford to print” or “you need a certain amount of money to buy typesetting equipment.” If your goal is just to get your book published, then there are too many obstacles.
So I decided to give you the basics on how to get your book published when you were still in high school. What I wanted was someone who was familiar with the publishing process but not too old (I was probably around 16 at that time) so I could show them what happens behind the scenes of getting your book published.
Before we jump into the details of formatting and designing your cover, let’s take a look at what a cover is first:
The cover is an integral part of a book that helps it stand out from others. Without one, nobody will notice your book!
What does this mean exactly? The cover makes it easier for people to remember if they see your book later on because it provides them with an image that reminds them of what they’ve read so far without having to go through pages and pages of text describing every single detail. The picture also helps readers decide if they would like to read more by showing how amazing it could be if they bought the book!
People enjoy looking at illustrations! The most frequent reason why people don’t want to buy something (be it a movie, a snack, or a house) is that they don’t like looking at it long enough before purchasing it; hence why so many posters and artwork are missing important details such as color palette or detailed backgrounds that would make their content more appealing! But this doesn’t happen when we create art based on our personal preferences; instead, we choose our favorite colors, fonts, and other design elements based on what works best for us!
